Crazy Drives, Casual Walks

Walking/hiking trails are abundant in the Australian Hinterlands. Though we enjoy a good hike that makes us work to enjoy the view, we tend to select casual hikes that include a substantial drive through hills, mountains, streams, and small towns, which we promise to return to on another day.

Two of our recent hikes include Jolly's Lookout and Egernia Circuit in D'Aguliar National Park and Tibrogargan Circuit in the Glasshouse Mountains. Each provided a short (under an hour) hike suitable for families with younger children though there is no trail access for strollers, bikes, or wheelchairs. At the end of this post is a short video taken while driving through the mountains which amplifies how the journey is as enjoyable as the destination. I'll let the views speak for themselves.

*We can see some of the Glasshouse Mountains from our current apartment's balcony. Sunset views from the balcony are fabulous, here's an example.
