Beach Daze

With nearly 50,000 kilometers of coastline, Australia boosts over 10,000 beaches. Mother Nature's talents are showcased with beaches of sand, stone, and volcanic rock. Visitors and locals can easily find a beach to suit their preferences. Be that a place to gather with family and friends, sunbathe and swim, explore a quiet cove, or witness the powerful display of crashing waves crashing into an outcropping of rock.

Along the Sunshine Coast, we've visited several beaches. Golden, Kings, Dicky, Bulcock, Shelly, Currimundi, Mcilwraith (viewpoint), and Wurtulla (my first excursion). Each beach has a unique beauty and mood. When I seek a space for reflection, my preferences are Mcilwraith and Wurtulla. Though Mcilwraith is more of a viewpoint (lookout) space, this previously landlocked farm girl calls it a beach. I appreciate its intensity. The wave crash is particularly impressive and oddly soothing. Wurtulla provides a space for reflection during long walks on a sandy shoreline with only a handful of other humans.

Beach accommodations vary. Please research each beach before an excursion.

Until Next Time,

Dana
